TOPSHOP UNIQUE | LFW13

Sitting in my slightly less glamorous bedroom with a cup of tea I sat back in comfort and watched the TOPSHOP Unique AW13 show live from the basement at the Tate Modern. I was immediately drawn in by the staggeringly beautiful Cara Delevingne who opened the show. I don't know what it is but she is going to go far for sure. She is so enticing to watch with her long blonde hair and contrasting dark eyebrows, a real British beauty.

The clothes, as expected, were in keeping with Topshop Unique's current feel; oversized, androgynous yet effortlessly cool.

Contrasting materials and fabrics was the theme of the day with oversized winter jackets teamed with a fitted PVC skirt.
Mixing the look with opposites kept the eye wondering and I was constantly scanning each outfit before the next model reached the end of the runway.

Colours were autumnal to begin with, in keeping with the winter warmer jackets but moved on to bright reds and oranges and proceeded to feminine dusky pinks and pastel blues.

Minimalism was definitely key with each separate piece being a statement by itself. No jewellery, no dominant prints, just layered-up textures and over-sized jackets doing all the work.

I can't wait to see the summer Topshop Unique range in the stores soon, I'll be waiting. And no doubt saving.

Alex.
